A special free episode, sharing Episode 11 with the essay Easter by Rev. Gyomay Kubose from the book, The Center Within.
In this episode of Words From My Teachers, an Everyday Buddhism podcast, I am reading the following essays from The Center Within by Rev. Gyomay Kubose:
Wash the Dishes
Indifference to Criticism
Easter
I hope you enjoy these readings and also hope that you will take my suggestion and music cue to do some reflection at the end of each essay. As my teacher, Rev. Koyo Kubose taught:
"Don't just read. Ask yourself how you can use what you heard? How can you add it to your spiritual toolbox?"
A note about some of the references and language used in these essays. They were compiled from talks given by Rev. Gyomay Kubose in the 1980’s, so some of the language and references used may strike you as sexist or out-of-touch. Don’t let this take away from the central theme of the essays. I have not changed the language in my reading but read it as published in 1986.
I hope you enjoy this free offering.
